How to Pick a Lock – Easy and Simple Methods to Pick a Lock
How to pick a lock?
This question is the most intriguing inquiry in the world of lock picking. How to lock picks
depend on the methods a picker use. At present, there are many available modern lock picking tools
that minimizes the effort and time in picking locks. One of the fastest techniques in picking a
lock is through the scrubbing method. Scrubbing is fast because you don't need to pay attention to
individual pins not unlike other methods in lock picking. With this technique, a lock picker only
has to find the correct torque and pressure of the lock.
Scrubbing applies five steps in picking: First; you must put the pick and torque wrench inside the
lock. Then pull the pick out to get a feel of the lock spring's stiffness. This is done without
using any torque to the lock. Second; use a light torque to the lock. After that, insert the lock
pick without touching the key pins. Put force to the pins as you pull out the pick. The force
applied should be a little higher than the spring force. Third; slowly but surely, increase the
torque with each stroke of the pick. Stop this procedure if all the key pins begin to set.
Fourth; scrub back and forth over the unset pins (keep in mind that during this process, the
torque is still fixed to the lock). If the key pins are not set, release the torque and start
again. Fifth; if almost all the pins are set, then enhance the torque and scrub the pins with a
moderate force.
